Oniomania...

I think I have them.
Some of you may be wondering what is that. Don't worry, it's not a deadly disease and it's certainly not contagious.. I hope so *lol*

(Inspired by Sonia)

It's actually a term for shopping addicts/compulsive shopping; the desire to spend money and feeling euphoria when it comes to shopping. Recently, I always have this urge to go out and buy things, anything that comes into mind. Even now, I still have the desire to go out and spend my money on things I know not necessary. So, I did some mini research on the web and this is what I found, ONIOMANIA. I'm not sure why it is termed so, but it sounds a bit like ONION..lol. Nah, actually I know why. Oniomania comes from the word onios (Greek) which means for sale and mania means insanity.

Several websites indicate the causes of oniomania could be depression, negative emotions (anger, stress), low-self esteem as well as social conditions. Hmm... am I depress? Could I be under stress? anger? One thing for sure, I'm easily angered.

If you think you're a shopaholic, let's watch out for these symtoms:
1) Compulsive buying
- when you need 1 top, you came home with more
- I think I am one compulsive buyer *sweat*

2) Hiding purchases
- hide/lie purchase to your significant other/parents
- I know who does ^^
- recently I do lie about my purchases *sweats*
I use to tell Dave what I bought and what I'm going to buy but I don't think I do now. Maybe I should start telling him again to control myself before my Oniomania level goes to the extreme.

3) Overspent/ over budget
Errr.... maybe I'm not in this category. I do control my spendings, just that when I have extra, I tend to spend a little bit more. I do have a minimum amount of money being kept for the rainy days. Anything over my savings, NO NO!

4) Hiding bills
This one applys to credit card(s) users which currently I'm not. Whenever I use credit card, I'll ask for permission first ^^.

5) Feeling ashamed/guilty after a shopping spree
- *lol* Again, I know who does!

6) Shopping to cover up anger/depression/sadness/anxiety/loneliness
- Who doesn't go around when you're lonely?

7) Thinking about money obsessively
- OMG, I do think a lot about money!

I'll have to start controlling now. Whenever I feel like going out shopping, I may have to opt for grocery supermarkets so I won't buy unnecessary attires/accesories or think of something more healthy to do like arranging my collections ^^ *Sweats even more* That would inflict more desire/urge. Better go for exercise.

Job searching

Today, being the 4th day of setting out my job searching mission (permanent/stable/full time job) and so far, I'm still jobless/unwanted. I've completed my resume on the first day, emailed it to several companies and I'm now still searching for companies of my field through the web. Doesn't do much help but the lack of such companies worries me. Do I need to stop here? Do I have to change my path? Probably that's the reason I've delayed my job search since my graduation. I know it won't be easy.. no.. I should say it's very tough.

Yesterday, I just told Dave about him ALWAYS not answering/replying me by saying, "I always have to wait for your answer/reply as if I'm waiting for GOD to answer/reply me VERBALLY". I emphasize VERBAL answers and not answering prayers or of such. No offense. I just hope my job search won't have the same fate *down on my knees begging*

I suddenly feel a pang of excitement and it's because I have Christmas on my mind. YEAH!!!~~~ Christmas is 1month, 3 weeks and 4 days away!! I'm dreaming of a white Christmas~~
Pardon me, this is one of my ways to kick off bad thoughts from my mind.

Back to job searching.. I guess I have to buy newspapers and use a phone book ^^

Some matters can't be put to rest

I always hear stories from my dear friends on how their family members near or far reunites /gathers during the festive seasons or at certain occasions and how close they are to each other. There's always a little voice inside me saying, I wish I can have that/ I wish I can feel/experience that. I am not fretting but more to expressing my thoughts here.

I used to think families are blood related people to me and are definitely closest to me. I was naive that I trusted each and everyone of them.
There were also quite a number of Hong Kong Chinese series that shows conflicts, fight for properties/money and greediness among family members in especially larger ones. Whenever I watch them, I used to think it's all fictional and untrue. However, of recent, I can see and experience it and to be able to see the true colours of certain human beings really sends fear into my bloodstream.

Sometimes I don't understand why certain people can be so greedy that they can even ignore the blood relationship with the people they greed from or falsely accuse for their own benefit. Worse, they can be super nice to you but behind you, they are cursing you to your graves. I call such living "things", the hypocrites. Imagine having hypocrites in your family? *SWEATS*

Besides being a hypocrite, I found that such people doesn't have the guts to admit what they did. Again, they pinpoint others and put the blame on innocent people. I don't quite understand their motives.

I, for myself, I know I'm a stingy person but I'm certainly not greedy. I've always tried my best not to misuse others to gain profit/benefit. This is because growing up in such environment made me felt what it's like to be used, falsely accused and betrayed. It's definitely not something that I would like to recall but it'll always be on my mind.

Sometimes, a stranger is better than the person who's blood related to you, don't you think so?

Some of this "family member" people are so inconsiderate. I remember this event whereby my dad sincerely helped this scumbag because his own proclaimed (not by my immediate family of course) "bastard dog" was going to have his finals. He was so nice and full with excuses when he asked for my dad's help. He claimed that he needed more time for his son because he wants his son to get full A's and so my dad helped him in replacing some of his work shifts. So, now that my sis needs to buck up in studies, my dad need to return the shifts to the scumbag. Guess what? Of course the scumbag didn't help my dad in return but he also told my dad "I CAN HANDLE WHY NOT YOU?". Hello??!~~~ Have you forgotten that you need my dad's help too? Have your forgotten that my sister is a human that deserves help too? He literally forgot that he asked for helped when he told my dad that in fact he didn't. Such a hypocrite!!

It's so frustrating at times but what can I do? Born into such family isn't anybody's choice. However, I'm lucky to have my dad, my mom, my sisters and brother who are close to each other. We never depend on those hypocrites. May you hypocrites have the best as you all strive so much in hopes to inherit those stupid rotten properties.

4th Entry of the day

Today's entries should cover my absence for the past full week *lol*.. I was busy with my job searching as well as gaming. Anyway, this entry is about the outing I had with Mel. I felt guilty as I made her waited for almost 3 hours as I kept delaying the appointed every half hourly. *shy* Sorry Mel, I didn't mean to delay the outing but I know you're nice and you'll never blame me, right? Hohoho

We went 1Utama as I've never been there for since ages ago. This time, I bought a pair of YELLOW shorts from FOS. Previously, I got myself a pair of GREEN shorts which was also during my outing with Mel. Now, my wardrobe has colourful pants *claps* Well, if it's not because of Mel using her HSBC credit card, I surely won't buy the pants. Why?? HSBC credit card holders are entitle a 20% discount off the total bill.. cool right? I realised that each time I went out with Mel, I was never home empty handed.. and so does she *lol* Right Mel? Don't curse me ya??!! Remember, Jibai faced people? *sorry for the vulgar*. Anyway, we bought what we needed, again, right Mel? Mel, remember, I'm out of pants to wear and you're out of tops as well as pants to wear too?? *wink*

We even tried out something new to us, BBQ Chicken @ 1Utama (opposite ColdStorage, where Giant used to be)

Mel & I, with the restaurant's poster

BBQ Chicken cooks their chicken with Olive Oil *healthier choice*

We ordered their combo set (Rm13.90++)
This dish consist of a bowl of salad, choleslaw, Korean charboiled chicken and fried chicken cutlets
I personally prefer the charboiled chicken but I think Mel prefers the fried chicken

A funny pic of Mel while going up the escalator
Oh ya, she was showing me her custard, so cute!~~

The outing was considered brief to me but again, I enjoyed it.. Hmm.. outing should be meant to be fun and enjoyable right? Especially when we have money to spend *hinting* I personally quite like the food in BBQ Chicken, price was fair considering the fact that they use olive oil (since they claim using olive oil).

I told Mel that we'll have to try 'Teh Tarik Place' which we spotted earlier. 'Why? It's because Teh Tarik Place' is a restaurant/Cafe that serves malay/mamak food and I love malay/mamak food. Also it's definitely a cheaper choice. It's located at Rainforest, 1Utama, floor LG, same level as BBQ Chicken.

Till next post!

8 hours shopping spree

Few days ago, I went out with Dave's mom in conjuction with the Metrojaya Anniversary Sales on their Preview Day. We were in Metrojaya only for a good 7 + hours. We bought nothing much but it was fun touching, holding, analysing and commenting stuffs there. That night itself I slept soundly till the sun rises like nobody's business. It was quite tiring and frustrating at the same time as there's so much to buy but not money =(

I spotted Metrojaya setting up Christmas decorations eventhough Deepavali is just around the corner. Christmas excites me.. how I wish everyday is Christmas. Lol.. Talking about Deepavali decorations, Midvalley has a nice one and 1Utama has a big intense-coloured peacock which I find it attractive. However, I only manage to take snapshots of Midvalley's decoration and not 1Utama.

Fishy Fishy~ <)>>>><

Whenever I miss or crave for seafood, as expected from a girl who comes from Sabah *wink* Dave will try to bring me to places which serves nice seafood. I still prefer Sabah's seafood, fresh and cheap. Anyway, this time, he brought me to The Manhattan Fish Market.

The place we went to satisfy our stomach

Camwhoring before the dish came...

Me

Dave

Mayonnaise and chili sauces
I love their mini mini steel bowls, I wonder if it's sold in supermarkets?
Else, I'll have to illegally smuggle them out *ngek ngek ngek*

Flaming~~!! LOL

Fisherman's Giant Fired Platter for Two!
This dish consist of calamaris (my fav.), fish, shrimps, fries, shells/clamps/mushrooms (unsure) and garlic rice ~yum yum~

However, I still prefer seafood prepared in a lighter way, e.g. steam, grill. The amount of calamaris given was satisfactory, which I like. The garlic rice doesn't taste as good as before in my opinion or maybe different branch different taste. Overall, this dish was okay only for me.

New Friends

In just a glimpse I've completed my 5 week job in KLCC. Apart from getting paid and gaining experience, I get to know many nice friends too. I was lucky enough to take pictures with some of them.

Promoters at my workplace - Me, Cammy, Jenn and Hui Shan

Me & Hui Shan

Me & Cammy

Me & Jenn

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to take pictures with Vinki and Fann because of the different working hours. All of them are so pretty~~!

Now that I'm jobless again, I'll have to search for part time jobs. Currently I don't want to get a permanent job because I have plans for this coming Chinese New Year. So, I'll surely look for a proper job after Chinese New Year. *not excuses ok? LOL*

Anybody has any part time job??? Do let me know ya.

Should I or Should I Not?

I went to my hairdresser today with the intention to get a trim. However, he advised me not to even trim it as my hair is in a bad condition to even deserve a trim. The reason is cutting it shorter means losing its weight thus would cause my hair to look bushier. Mother of tarzan screaming* Rebonding or straightening it would further damage my lower end hair as I've previously damaged my hair with all sorts of chemical treatment (including rebonding, perming, bleaching and colouring) if I were to maintain my current length.

So, the solution he came up with was cutting it short. The advantage of having a short hair would be:
1) lower maintenance cost
2) a new hairstyle
3) loose all my damaged part hair

The pros (advantages) will always bring along its best friend, the cons (disadvantages) which are:
1) frequent visit to the saloon to maintain the shape
2) what if I don't suit that hairstyle? it will cause me years to get back to my current length
3) I may need more time styling my hair

What do you think? Should I or Should I Not? *tuuu tuuu tuuu*

Something to share..

Again, yesterday I went Sunway Pyramid with Mel. This time is for bowling *lol* since we're entitle the 2 free games. Anyway, as usual, we went shopping around and I heard a song I like instantly. I want to share it with you all here so you can listen to it while reading through this entry *wink*.

Enjoy!!

Pussycat Dolls - I'm Done

After bowling, Mel & I had our late lunch at Kim Gary. It has been a while since I last had a proper meal there. This was what we had:

My Shanghai honey roasted ribs rice along with hot tea and borsch soup
Mel commented on the ribs being aromatic but I would say if the gravy is something tasted more like honey which could be a better compliment to the ribs.

Mel's Deep fried chicken and mushroom rice together with cold tea and cream soup

The meal cost about RM 13++ per person. Overall, the meal was alright. The outing was fun and bowling SUCKS *lol* (just because I played badly) =P

I'm now slightly relieved because 1 of my long set mission is now accomplished, my resume/profile =).

Psst!! I actually bought another top. Will update the picture here later. *Evil laughter*

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

I know.. I know..

It's been a while since I last posted (again!). Well, I was tired, lazy and no inspiration to start a new topic. However, (at last) something other than ordinary happened today, nothing unusual as well. I actually went bowling and shopping with Mel today.

So I'll start of with bowling since that's what we did first. My average today was 165.67 (192, 123 & 182). Mel did well, considering she's new in bowling, she still managed an average of close to 100. Bravo Mel~~!! After we finished our 3 games only did I noticed Pyramid Megalanes are currently having their October promotion. The promotion is meant for College Girls. Just by showing your college/university student i.d., you are entitle 2 free games. Just as simple as that but remember, GIRLS only!. Damn the cashier who never inform us. We paid 3 games which we should only pay for 1 (since we're also entitled for the 2 free games). Enough of complaining. Now that I'm so eager to show you what I've bought today!!

By the way, we had late lunch in Pizza Hut after the damage to our purses. We ordered one of the cheaper sets available, Sensasi Delight set, below Rm10 per set.

Mel on the phone while dipping Breadstix into her soup-of-the-day a.k.a. mushroom cream soup

Posting while on the phone with her food

This was what I ordered (picture taken from Pizza Hut's site)

But my rice came looking so different from the illustration
Looks like it's sabotaged by the chef/waiter *jk LOL*
By the way, the rice was too dry to my liking.. taste as if it's not properly cooked

I even had Mel to swear and witness that the rice was not touched by me when it was served
She claimed to be sincere.. but this photo showed otherwise *hmm..*

Mel's Waikiki Paradise

We were so adventurous that we tried creating new soup flavours from the ones we were having.

We had our soup mixed with Tabasco sauce
Balancing the taste as I put too much Tabasco into 1 bowl

And also cheese flakes. Stirring is needed *lol* that's why the picture came out to be blurry due to motions
The result: I think it tasted like Sabah's chili (paste) and Mel said Mich told her that adding chili sauce into the soup could produce sze chuan soup

Our precious, I feel so happy with what I've purchased today!!!

Mel's newest collection
This picture was taken in her car as we were not daring enough to take it in public restaurants *lol*
So, before leaving Pyramid, we were both taking snapshots in Mel's car like 2 crazy females

Behold my newest collection *lol*
Mel insisted that I took this shot there and then so that my accessories' picture won't look better than hers (to avoid biasness) even it caused her to get caught in the jam on her way back home.

The total damage I got from this outing was around Rm100 (bowling + food + accessories + parking fee) but I'm happy with the stuff I bought *wink*

Get It?

I was reading jokes from this site and guess what I found?
This:

Joke #1
(Jokes were slightly altered)
"Dear, guess what I heard today?" Mr. Innocent asks to his wife.
"What is that, honey?" the wife asks.
"The postman has seduced every woman on our block but one."
The wife replies, "I bet it's that stuck-up Felicia in number 33."

Joke #2
At a rugby match, a player was knocked down by an opponent. This player didn't move so first-aiders quickly grabbed their gears and rushed to the field. Meanwhile, the coach picked up the player and asked "Can you hear me? Squeeze me once for yes and twice for no."

Get the joke? *lol*

Go GREEN!!!

Nah.. not about going green though. It is actually I got myself a pair of green shorts. I seldom buy green garments but this shorts has a cute shade of green. There'll be a chance where I'll take pictures wearing this shorts. This was the result from the outing/shopping with Mel this afternoon. We went to IKEA today and had lunch together to catch up on our own current issues

I heard a song played in one of the store today which I fell in love with it instantly. I couldn't find the original music video but I got something with lyrics instead. Enjoy!!~

Current addiction

I'm currently addiction to this game - Bubble Tanks 2. I've been playing it since yesterday. Why I like this game is because it can be played online for free, without downloading and installation. This game's mission is to destroy enemy tanks in different giant bubbles. Thus, we're required to destroy the enemies from bubbles to bubbles. Visit the site for more information and other games.

The hold back

I didn't realize that I haven't post anything since 3rd October. This mean that I have not been writing for the past 4days! What have I been doing for the past freaking 4 days!? Let me list it out... First, I had been working on the 4th and 5th then followed by resting on the 6th. Yesterday, I went out and got myself tired. Let me summarize the whole thing here since my memory has been refreshed..

Work was alright but I have something to digress about here regarding my workplace. First, some staffs there are not so friendly but that's not the worst problem. My break time was supposed to be 5 - 6 pm (set by my agent) but the staffs there insisted that I should follow their break hours which was either 2, 3 or 4 pm and so I am on the 4-5pm break. Nevermind that! Again, this is not the worst matter! The award winning problem should be this, the products I'm selling are mostly OUT OF STOCK! Not due to sold out but their restocking is too slow and too low. What do they expect me to promote? My ASS FLESH? I'm not sure if it's the company or the outlet's management that I'm working in has problem ordering goods. or it's just their lousy system. This does not apply to the product I'm promoting but others as well. Their shelves are always full with empty spaces. According to other promoters who worked at other branches before did not experience the same problem as this. I told my agent about it and I hope they will bring this matter up to the client. The good news is, yesterday I was told to do another extra 2 weeks.. *smiles* but bad news for my feet. By the way, my legs and heels weren't that painful as weeks go by which means that they are getting fitter!

Being a loyal customer of Sakae sushi, as predicted, I visited the KLCC branch after my work on Sunday. Dave and I thought of trying out the new outlet and so we did. I would say the food was quite similar to other outlets. Only the portion and food presentation varies.

A different layout - more like Japanese style

Dave in stripes

Forget me, I want to stress on the length of the salmon.
It's longer and slightly thicker - yummy!~

Their signature logo at the back

I love their not-too-bright environment

On Monday night, Dave and I went to watch this:

Eagle Eye (taken from Wikipedia)
It was a great movie..to me of course.

Yesterday was one of the boring days. I went to pyramid to get Kaka's food then I went window shopping before going home with nothing but a packet of dog biscuits.

Guess what, I was still typing this post when I saw this baby girl..she's so cute, with deep-set eyes and rosy cheeks. She attracts me to take her pictures. Very few cases where I am attracted to babies. She has the aura ^^. She was brought to Dave's shop by a customer a.k.a. the baby girl's babysitter.

Look at her rosy chubby cheeks

She looks abit annoyed here, maybe she doesn't like her pictures to be taken

I look like a hamster..omg.. she's facing downwards

So another picture was taken..
This customer happens to be a friend of Dave's mom. She told me that this babysitter do let babies (under her care) sip beer/wine. This way, the babies won't be too noisy. I wonder if her rosy cheeks are due to alcohol reaction? Tsk..Tsk.. Tsk.. On top of that, she's quiet too. Maybe that's why I like this baby. Hahaha, Sonia, I don't need to strangle babies anymore.. alcohol is the solution! JK JK!

Ganoderma

Ganoderma is the genus of certain mushrooms. One very good example is Ganoderma lucidium (scientific name) a.k.a. ling zhi, a popular medicinal mushroom. However, what I'm going to post here is not solely about mushrooms but on Ganofarm homestay in Tanjung Sepat, Sepang. As simple as it sounds, Ganofarm does culture and produce lingzhi into various products. On top of that, they also provide accomodation for visitor through Ganofarm homestay. It's located by the seaside and it's quite a relaxing place to be. Here, we can get local and homemade products.

How did I get to know this place? Simple! From Dave's family of course and because I spent my Raya holidays there. This time, Dave was the photographer of the trip and we've taken lots of pictures of the location. For your relief, this post will have more pictures and less wordings *grins* Here they come..Ta daaa~~~

This was what we saw along the journey *boring*

Then slowly improving ... to a more townly place

Then we arrived at our designated area, Ganofarm! A comfortable place to be. I was there with Dave's family and a few relatives.

Ganofarm Homestay - This was where we headed

Newspaper cuttings of the place

The outside view

A visit to their mushroom cultivating area. Since this is a mushroom farm and the main attraction spot for this area, we shouldn't miss it.

Lingzhi

Cultivated Lingzhi

Black fungus (mook ee)

Black mushroom. They look a bit like ashes.

Monkey Head ??!!

So it looks like this!! Never had this before

One of my favourite mushroom

Not sure if the yellow tiny mushrooms are oyster mushrooms
but since it's at the same shelf, it should be *sweats*

Pinkish mushrooms

After that, we went to check out the seaside behind the mushroom farm. It was low tide at the moment we visit the beach.

Me and the View

Dave enjoying the wind and scenery

Dogs playing by the beach

Dave & I

Dave and his cousins, Nikko and Victoria

We visited the nearby town. We strolled around for a few good hours.

The town's view

Nothing much to see but we spotted alot of plants grown by the people there. I notice alot of aloe vera grown there.

It's not that I never see Aloe Vera but these have huge stems

Kedondong a.k.a. Golden Apple

Lady's fingers plant

Spotted this while walking around the town.. their very own luk luk truck.

Then when night fall, we went back to the seaside to enjoy the breeze.

Enjoying the sea breeze

I was looking at...

THIS!!!! Mud skippers, the ones with shining eyes.

Taken in front of Ganofarm homestay
The bench was made out of the trees at the seaside. Mangroves maybe

The next day, before we headed back, we visited some of the area's famous places, such as the coffee factory and farms of dragon fruits, longans and tapioca as well as a fishball factory. Mind you, these are not large scale producing factories or farms.

Pamelo tree

The entrance of the coffee factory

Coffee plant

What is this? Coffee fruits? beans? seeds?
Anyway, it's the inner part that we use to make coffee

Dried coffee beans

Posing with the beans

Roasting?? the coffee beans

Not sure this is frying or roasting. Doesn't matter..just enjoy the pictures..bah!

The process of chips in the making

Packets of chips (tapioca)

Yam chips

Tasting prior to purchasing

Wtf.. so hot still want to snap with the pineapple

Don't know what it is call, never eat it before, wtf and they say it's very nice :(

Ant's nest.. this also want to snap *shake heads*

A visit to the fishball factory

The ladies preparing the fishpaste roll with vege. Again.. I don't know what is it call..wth

Fu Chuk (tofu skin) before spreading a layer of fish paste

Mixing the fish meat to become fishball/paste

Fish noodle, pressed out within salted water

Pails of beaten fishpastes - I still prefer homemade fishballs/pastes

Before headed back to KL, we had lunch at a nearby restaurant, Lover Bridge

With Dave's cousins, Nikko and Kelly
Taken beside the restaurant. Yes, it's a seaside restaurant

Dave's bro, Dave, Me and Dave's mom

We managed to stop at Sepang Goldcoast for a good 10minutes before continuing the journey home. I wouldn't say it's the greatest beach I've visited before.

plantIt's the view of Sepang Goldcoast? (Australia? lol)

Better view of the Sepang Goldcoast beach

Visit to the longan farm. The flesh of the longans were too thin for my liking.
The weather was darn hot, thus I did not venture into the farm

The dragon fruit farm - the last stop.
The fruit plants do look like cactus to me

Dave and the dragon fruits

Enjoying dragon fruit milk shake.
I'm not a fan of dragon fruits but this was very very refreshing especially on a hot day like this.
Yummy~~ One more please!

Spotted at the dragon fruit farm, I think it's a maltese mix?

It's puppy maybe

I love this cutie

Of all the pictures taken, I would say these two are pictures of the day!

It looks like a cocker spaniel, however I would like to stress on its hairstyle.
Dave said its hairstyle looks like 'Kampung hairstyle'. Anyhow, it's a funny hairstyle.
It's clever enough to post for us. This picture was taken while we strolled around the town.

Took this while the car was moving.
At first I thought it was real but as we get closer, we realised it was fake.
I missed taking picture of it while on the way to Tg. Sepat. That's why I was prepared to take this while I'm on my way back to KL.

Overall, it's not bad for a one day trip. The beaches weren't the best and the food was so so only. I would still prefer Sabah's seafood over this area's. It should be a place for nature lover. Fresh air, nice people, small town and sea view.

Current Snippets

I'll be back! pretty soon...
